I mean, think "energy certificates," carbon credits, social credit scoring. They need a smart grid to do that. Everyone seems to think I am a conspiracy theorist for thinking this way, but it makes sense to me.
But, whatever actually really happened, it shows a person just how inconvenient it is to not have electricity. Things you take for granted are no longer available.
Your refrigerator stops keeping the food cold, you can't flush your toilet, you can't wash your hands or shower, you can't cook like normal. There is no heat or air conditioning. No lights. No water. Of course, I had already thought of these things previously so I wasn't totally "in the dark," but still. It was not fun.
Here in Indiana we had something similar last month, and another outage a few nights ago. I think it has a lot to do with cloudseeding. It's almost daily here, and on both occasions the weather forecasts were completely wrong, no warning, torrential downpour, trees down everywhere, just a mess. Ours was not as long as yours but it sure seemed like it would be judging by the damage.
I live in the country with my parents and want to make some alternative waste disposal system. But neither likes the idea though burying it or putting in in a separate hole outdoors beats an overflowing indoor system that no longer works.
