The question that I have, though, is that if these stablecoins are backed by the worthless dollar, and the companies that produce these stablecoins have to have each one backed by a dollar, who's to say they stick with that rule? They could just claim these are backed by US dollars, but just produce more of them without any backing. It's nothing but another fiat currency, and the more they print, the more it is worth less and less. This seems to me that things could go very wrong very quickly. Faster lead in to hyper-inflation? Am I completely wrong on this? Couldn't this backfire?
I think you are on the mark. Perhaps I should have clarified that I question whether this will even work for very long. Our bond market is under serious duress right now, the Treasury and the Fed are being forced to buy back our own debt, so now we have all this toxic debt on the books and no one wants to do business with us. It's a Ponzi, and all Ponzis eventually collapse once the bottom falls out.
It's kind of the same logic behind a gold-backed CBDC. That's where I think a lot of these digital currencies are going longterm, or something like that. The problem is, how do we know how much gold the central banks and treasuries have, and more importantly, is the gold convertible 1:1 to these digital tokens? If not, then it's just gold-backed in name only. Zimbabwe tried this, a gold-backed CBDC, and it did not last long because the public did not trust it.
Seems majority are trapped except for very few off grid gardeners, hunters that are self sufficient on everything to survive. Few are able to do this esp elderly or disabled. Those that are will barter metals and other goods for needed items.
My body does not produce enough micronutrients without massive supplements. The only real benefit I get from our medical system now. I can stockpile a few months' worth but that is a guarantee that even if I find someone willing to let me stay, I won't last long. Perhaps that's best.
Learn how to make real stuff is what I'd tell those without their own homesteads. Like furniture, toys, clothes. You can barter these for food.
Elderly people living near me depend on medical devices and frequent med. updates on medicines for heart and/or other serious issues. Best more can do is stock up on canned foods you like, tea, coffee bottled water and household items used regularly.

1- Every major company- Walmart, Home Depot, Kroger, Dollar General, McDonalds, Casey/gas stations, etc., will begin issuing their own stablecoin. HD-coin, WMT-coin and so on. We will have to convert our currency into these digital assets in order to shop in their stores.
The benefits:
- Since these stablecoins are treasury backed (one to one) it will increase demand for US T Bill instruments which while increases the demand, it lowers interest rates- stimulate economy by lowering the cost of barrowing. You may have noticed the 10year bond is consistently hammered in the past several months when it approaches 5%. As CAF mentioned in the video, "they are moving very fast to implement these policies." The reason is to front run the bond vigilante who are demanding higher rates for holding a depreciating assets.
In essence, they are suddenly creating an artificial demand for treasuries-trapping bond holders. At the same time, by causing interest rates to drop, they will create an artificial demand for borrowing which may stimulate the economy. Likewise, enticing foreign entities to invest in the US will require additional T Bill demand via stablecoin transfer/transactions.
Downside:
There is a huge risk due to lack of participation. Many individuals and entities may boycott individual organizations and businesses that implement these policies (covid 2.0). [Although, their plan is going to be slow integration while providing incentives (like Kroger "digital savings".)] Likewise, any country that understand this sleight of hand scheme that uses freshly painted old T -Bills into a "brand new" tokens, will be just as hesitant to hold them as they were holding Treasuries.
I really don't think this is going to work internationally unless major real changes are implemented in US financial system as well as its broken government. This could fall apart very quickly after it is implemented. Revelation 18 comes to mind describing all those who shipped their goods to us in exchange for these same pieces of papers we call "Dollars".
End game:
I think eventually, as the last resort, the tokenization system will go fully private (as it seems that is the plan). In essence currency will become shares of stocks of companies very much like todays' crypto currencies. I can purchase 100 units of WMT-coin and based on the price of the stock, I can swap it with HD-coin and buy my lumber (or vice versa). Again, it could end up with a disastrous outcome. We will all be participants in the stock markets as we have been trained since the inception of 401-K's and the likes.
This new system sounds like utter chaos...Babylon!
Can you imagine what it will be like trying to straighten out an error that has been made? Or if they shut off access to your money?
Already it is a nightmare trying to prove that a payment was made or that a payment wasn't credited correctly. This whole new system is built on "ZERO TRUST" and if there is ZERO privacy, what then? Anyone can just waltz in and take all your money saying they're you? I know...hence the NEED for Digital ID.
